Company background
Narvi Oy dates back to 1937 and is based in Lappi, part of Rauma on Finland's west coast. It has stayed a Finnish company for its whole history; in 2021 the owners sold a stake to the Finnish investment firm Folmer Management. Narvi also sells stoves under a second brand, Kota.
Outside Finland the name is best known among people building wood-fired saunas at cottages and cabins. Retailers that carry it point out that most of its production still happens in Finland.
Wood-burning stoves
Narvi's wood stoves are what most buyers in Canada come for. The range runs from compact stoves for small cabin saunas to larger models for family-size rooms.
| Series | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| NC 16, NC 20, NC 24 | Wood-burning | Several sizes; pick by room volume on the spec sheet |
| Kuru | Wood-burning | Compare stone capacity and recommended room size before buying |
| Stony | Wood-burning | Check the chimney connection and clearances for your room |
Clean burning matters more in Canada than many buyers expect. Several provinces and municipalities regulate wood-burning appliances, and an insurer may ask what stove and chimney you installed. Check local rules and keep the manufacturer's clearances; the electric vs wood-burning guide lists what to ask before you build.
Electric heaters
Narvi also makes electric heaters for indoor saunas. The current lines include NC, NS, NM, Velvet, Ultra and Saana, ranging from simple wall heaters to models with more stones and some with app control. Electric models are less common in North American stores than Narvi's wood stoves, so confirm that the exact model is a North American version with a cUL, cETL or CSA mark before you buy.

Narvi compared with other wood-stove makers
