Who owns which sauna heater brand
Seven of the names on this page belong to just two companies. Heaters with different badges can share parts suppliers, service networks and warranty departments, so ownership is worth knowing before you compare them.
| Group | Brands | Parent company |
|---|---|---|
| Harvia Group | Harvia, EOS | Harvia Plc, Finland (Nasdaq Helsinki). Bought EOS in stages, 100% since 2022. |
| Sauna360 Group | Tylö, Helo, Kastor, Finnleo, Amerec | Formerly TylöHelo. Acquired by Masco Corporation (Watkins Wellness) in 2023. |
| Independent | HUUM, Saunum, Narvi, IKI, Scandia, Kuuma | Each runs as its own company. Saunum Group is listed on Nasdaq Baltic; Kuuma is made by the family-run Lamppa Manufacturing. |
How to choose a sauna heater brand
The model matters more than the badge, but a few things depend on the company behind the heater.
- North American certification. In Canada an electric heater needs a cUL, cETL or CSA mark to pass inspection. European models without one cannot legally be wired in.
- Service where you live. Elements and contactors wear out years later. Pick a brand with a distributor or dealers in your province; see where to buy sauna heaters in Canada.
- Electric or wood. Saunum, EOS, Amerec and Scandia make no wood stoves, and Kuuma makes nothing else. The trade-offs are in electric vs wood-burning sauna heaters.
- Controls. Harvia (MyHarvia), HUUM (UKU), Saunum (Leil) and Finnleo (SaunaLogic) all have phone apps, usually through a separate Wi-Fi control you buy with the heater.
- Stone mass. More stones give softer, longer-lasting steam and a slower warm-up. IKI, Kuuma and the Harvia Cilindro sit at the heavy end.
