Company background
Amerec is an American brand of sauna heaters and steam generators. It was historically based in the Seattle area of Washington state. Today it belongs to the Sauna360 Group, together with Finnleo and the Nordic brands Tylö, Helo and Kastor. Amerec's current warranty is issued by the group's US company in Cokato, Minnesota.
Amerec makes steam generators as well as sauna heaters, so the brand turns up in steam showers and steam rooms as often as in saunas.
Sauna heaters
| Series | Notes |
|---|---|
| Designer B, Designer S, Designer SL2 | The core residential heater family, in several outputs |
| Trend (Designer Pure) | Sold under both names; part of the Designer family |
| Pro | Higher-output line; check commercial warranty terms |
| Laava | Same name as the Helo and Finnleo Laava |
Amerec makes no wood-burning stoves. For wood heat within the same group, Finnleo sells the Kastor Saga.
Steam generators
The AK series covers residential and commercial steam generators for steam showers and steam rooms. If you are planning a bathroom with a steam shower as well as a separate sauna, Amerec is one of the few brands that can supply both.
Warranty in the US and Canada
Amerec publishes its warranty terms, which is not true of every brand. Its 2021 limited warranty gives:
- Residential sauna heaters: 5 years on parts and 2 years on labour.
- Residential steam generators: a limited lifetime warranty on parts.
The terms apply in both the United States and Canada. Commercial installations have different terms, so check before using a residential heater in a gym or condo amenity room. Compare warranties across brands in the brand comparison.
Buying Amerec in Canada
Amerec heaters and steam generators are sold through sauna, spa and plumbing dealers. Because Amerec and Finnleo share an owner, a Finnleo dealer may also be able to order Amerec.
