Company background
Finnleo was founded on September 14, 1984 and is based in Cokato, Minnesota, a part of the state with a long Finnish-American sauna tradition. It builds complete saunas (traditional, infrared and hybrid rooms) as well as heaters and controls. Today Finnleo is a division of the Sauna360 Group, alongside Tylö, Helo and Kastor and Amerec. Masco Corporation bought Sauna360 in 2023.
Heater lines
Finnleo sells heaters made for North American 208/240 V supply and describes them as safety tested and listed. Check the exact listing mark on the model you choose.
| Series | Type | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Designer | Electric | A long-running Finnleo range in several outputs for home saunas |
| Himalaya | Electric, tall stone tower | Rooms where a large stone mass and soft steam matter |
| Laava | Electric | The same name also appears in the Helo and Amerec ranges |
| Magma | Electric | Another Finnleo heater line; compare kW and room size |
| Saga by Kastor | Wood-burning | Cabins and outdoor saunas without a 240 V supply |
SaunaLogic controls
Finnleo's own control system is called SaunaLogic. The newer SaunaLogic2 control works with the SaunaLogic app, so you can start the heater from a phone and set it to be warm when you get home. As with other brands, app control depends on fitting the right control unit, not just the heater.
Dealer network in Canada
Finnleo's biggest practical advantage for Canadian buyers is its dealer network. Its dealer finder lists more than twenty dealers across seven provinces, including SML Hot Tubs in Edmonton and Pure Sauna in Montreal. A local dealer matters when you need warranty work, a new element or help sizing a heater for an odd-shaped room. Use the finder on finnleo.com or see our list of stores on where to buy sauna heaters in Canada.
Finnleo or a European brand?
Choose Finnleo if you want a North American company to deal with, a complete sauna room and heater from one source, or a dealer close by. If design is the priority, compare it with HUUM or EOS; if you want the widest choice of heaters, compare it with Harvia. Everything is side by side in the sauna heater brand comparison.
